Arsenal crashed out of the FA Cup as they lost to Chelsea.
Arsenal 1 Chelsea 2 (Mitchell; Chapman, Davison)
A disappointing home defeat for the holders who went two goals down from two former Arsenal players in the first half hour before getting a goal back on the stroke of half-time.
No goals were scored in the second half in what was a frustrating game.
Manchester City 3 Birmingham 1 (Duggan, Parris, Scott ; Haines)
Title contenders City overcame Birmingham at home to set up their first ever semi-final. They took the lead in the first half through Duggan and added a second through Parris in the middle of the second half. Haines got one goal back for Blues late in the game, but Scott made sure of the win with the last goal of the game.
Notts County 5 Aston Villa 1 (White, Bassett, Whelan, Susi x2; Welsh)
Notts County, tipped by many as a title contender, destroyed second division side Aston Villa. They were already two goals up when Owen got sent off for two bookable offences. They added another three goals while Villa got a consolation goal.
Everton 1 Charlton 1 (5-4 pens)
Everton Ladies needed a penalty shootout to beat huge underdogs Charlton Women, the only remaining team from the winter leagues. Stewart scored for the Tofees with three minutes remaining in normal time. Whinnet equalised a couple minutes later for the Addicks to take the game to extra time. With no goals scored, it went to a penalty shootout and Everton qualified with Magill scoring the winning spot kick.
