If you listened to certain people, then Santi Cazorla’s exit from Arsenal this summer was a sure thing.

With Atletico Madrid being heavily linked with the little magician, the rumours never made any sense to us here at Cannon Towers and we’re delighted to hear that Santi has rubbished them.

Speaking to the press in Spain Cazorla said “Right now I haven’t heard from anybody, it’s just rumours.

“And, to tell the truth, it doesn’t concern me too much. What I’m concerned about is Arsenal, where I’m doing well.

“In the future, we’ll see,” he added. “I’m saying that I like it very much and, as long as the club value me as they have done until now, then I’ll continue.”

Enjoying his best season in an Arsenal shirt since his arrival from Malaga in 2012, Cazorla has eight goals and 12 assists in 14/15 and is now certainly one of the first names on the teamsheet.

While we fully expect some publications to take his ‘In the future, we’ll see’ comments and spin them into clickbait headlines, we also expect to see the Spaniard lineup for Arsenal next season.

Cazorla has three years left on his current Arsenal deal and unless something changes dramatically, I can’t imagine him leaving before 2017 at the earliest.
