Remember when Luis Suarez was splashed all over the papers begging Liverpool to let him leave for Arsenal?

Remember when Arsenal triggered his release clause and then Liverpool lied about it and mocked us even though they were the ones refusing to honour the clause they had agreed with initially?

Remember when a load of us didn’t want to sign Suarez in the first place because he’s a detestable human being?

Remember when we then went and signed Alexis Sanchez whom the reds so desperately wanted themselves?

So, remembering all that, it seems odd that Suarez has declared that Steven Gerrard offered him a ‘nice gesture’ by telling him not to sign for Arsenal, a club he begged to join.

Speaking to Cadena Cope, the bitey one said

“For all his experience and what that means; Gerrard. He taught me a lot, helped me make decisions, when I thought I was doing things wrong, he helped me realise I was right.

“He knew a lot about football.

“When I had the chance to join Arsenal, he told me not to. Gestures like that from him really helped me a lot.”
