Arsenal, along with Tottenham, are apparently interested in signing Tom Cleverley according to Sky Sports.

For reals.

Once hailed by Manchester United fans as a future great, it didn’t take long for them be glad to see the back of him as he left for a season-long loan with Aston Villa.

Just quite why we would be interested in Cleverley is hard to fathom, after all, it’s not like Arsenal don’t have a ton of midfielders, every one of whom is superior.

Reading the story on the Sky Sports site, there seems absolutely no reason to have Arsenal linked with the player other than to generate a headline. They contain more significant information about interest from Villa, Everton, and Schalke.

The only thing going in his favour that he would cost nothing. He’s out of contract once the window opens and would be available at Arsene Wenger’s favourite price.

Beyond that, the whole thing is just stupid.
