Chuba Akpom will spend the rest of the season on loan with Nottingham Forest.

The Arsenal striker joins on the final day of the window that allows teams outside the Premier League to take players on loan.

Tweeting to confirm the deal Fawaz Alhasawi, chairman and owner of Nottingham Forest said:

I am delighted to announce that Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom has joined us on loan until 31 May. #nffc

Akpom has recently signed a new long term deal with Arsenal after being wooed by a number of top clubs across Europe as his contract ran down.

At Arsenal since he was six years old, the forward played for England u20’s on Wednesday night and both won and converted the penalty which saw his side draw with Mexico 1-1 at The Hive. england won the game on penalties with Akpom also netting during the shoot-out.

A statement on the official Forest site said

Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Arsenal’s Chuba Akpom on loan until 31 May.

The 19-year-old striker, who spent time on loan at Brentford and Coventry last season, has made seven appearances for Arsenal this campaign, three in the Premier League.
Akpom is currently with Ben Osborn in England’s Under 20s set-up. The striker scored the equaliser in last night’s friendly against Mexico, a game which also saw Osborn make his Under 20 debut. Akpom went on to score in the penalty shootout as England emerged victorious.
Akpom and Osborn are in contention to face USA on Sunday before heading to Nottingham ahead of the Good Friday clash with Wolves.
