Jack Wilshere and Mathieu Flamini are closing in on a returns for Arsenal.

The pair have been sidelined with an ankle and hamstring injury respectively although it’s hard to say how much Flamini has been missed.

Wilshere, out since November when Manchester United’s Paddy McNair put in a horrible (and unpunished) tackle on him, underwent a second surgery to shave a screw that was causing him discomfort.

The operation, which was described as ‘minor‘ had been originally slated for the summer to allow him the time to recover, but was moved forward, presumably because the midfielder was in significant discomfort with it.

Jack posted a picture of himself and Flamini training and while Jack will not be involved against West Ham at the weekend, he could be ready in time for Monaco Mission Impossible.

It’s not clear when Flamini will be fit enough to return to sitting on the bench now that Le Coq has taken his place for good.
