Was there ever a time when Yohann Gourcuff wasn’t linked with Arsenal?

Now, with the latest comments from his agent claiming that there are a number of clubs in both England and Italy interested in his player, the link is back once more.

Didier Poulmaire said

‘It is incredible. Even since Saturday, people have been calling me. They know how talented Yoann is.’

He added: “Those who follow football say: ‘This is not possible. He is truly talented. At Bordeaux, he did incredible things and now, it is not working anymore.’ People want to understand why the machine has derailed. But clubs in Italy and England are contacting me. That I find is reassuring.”

Gourcuff is out of contract in the summer, and his agent is doing a fine job of linking his name to clubs that others would imagine might be interested in signing him.

Gourcuff is a cheap, talented, French, injury-prone attacking midfielder. It’d be a bigger story if Arsenal WEREN’T interested in signing him, and with the likes of Diaby set to leave the club in the summer, someone else will have to keep the physios busy.

All that being said, this is one transfer that will probably forever be linked with but never actually sign.
