Whoscored have produced a graphic detailing the top five players who are significantly worse than they were last season.
And it doesn’t make good reading for Arsenal fans.
While Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard tops the list seeing his average score drop from 7.77 to 6.98, an overall drop of 0.81, Aaron Ramsey is in second place with 6.98, 0.78 down on his season average of 7.76 from the 13/14.
Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke is in third place with a 0.76 drop to 7.26 and it is another Arsenal man in fourth place – Wojciech Szczesny. The Pole has seen his rating drop 0.59 from 7.04 to 6.46.
Everton’s Romelu Lukaku completes the five with a 0.56 drop to 7.31.
I don’t think the news that Sczczesny and Ramsey are performing worse this season than they were last, but the fact that they are second and fourth in this list is a little concerning.
We can, of course, cite mitigating circumstances. Ramsey has been plagued by muscular problems this season while Woj has had to operate behind an ever-changing back four.
Still.
It’s not nice.
