Ben Sheaf has signed his first professional contract with Arsenal.

The central midfielder, who arrived at the club from West Ham in the summer, turned 17 on Thursday and Arsenal wasted no time in getting him to put pen-to-paper.

Featuring for the u18’s this season as well as playing in the FA Youth Cup and the UEFA Youth League, Sheaf has impressed in his debut season with the club.

Before moving to the Emirates Sheaf turned down a new contract with West Ham and was expected to have a big future with the Hammers as he is viewed as one of the best young mdfielders in the country.

Coming from a sporting family, Sheaf’s mother and brothers bother represented Team GB at the Olympics in volleyball.

Described on his Arsenal.com profile page as an ‘elegant central midfielder’ he holds in his locker everything needed to make him an all-round midfielder, including the ability to score long-range free-kicks.
