Emmanuel Petit took part in a meet and greet with fans in Malaysia who were able to ask questions.

Revealing that he believes Jack Wilshere is the best player at Arsenal, he was asked why he left the club to join Barcelona.

He replied

When a team like Barcelona or Madrid gives you an offer, it’s often too tempting to turn down.

He then went on to say that, ultimately, he wished he’d rejected the offer and remained at Arsenal.

Arsenal’s number 17 for three years still makes sure everything in his life is 17-related – all his shirts, his house number and the number he bets on as it holds a special meaning for him, a meaning he didn’t elaborate on.

About Jack Wilshere Petit said that, although he needs to improve, he has all the qualities that the French midfielder likes in a player, before also expressing his admiration for Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil.

The event, which took place on Sunday, saw Manu say about Wenger

“Wenger is like a father to me, and is a relationship I’m proud to keep.”

It is a sentiment we hear from many ex-players, no matter how long they were at the club.
