Arsenal have been to see midfielder Godfred Donsah according to his club.

The president of Cagliari confirmed that the Gunners were one of a number of clubs, including Manchester City, who were interested in the 18-year-old midfielder.

Whether Arsenal are considering moving for the player is not clear.

The situation is complicated by the fact that the Ghanaian would need a work permit before he’s allowed to play in the Premier League and we all know how much fun Arsenal have getting those.

Speaking to the press, Thomas Guilini said

“It’s not just City, even Arsenal were here to see him but I want to keep him here another year.”

“It is better for his development too, to stay here one more season.”

Arsenal no doubt check-out a lot of players but for the president to speak so publicly about this leads me to think that there could be more to it than the usual rumour mongering that we are all so accustomed to.

One to keep an eye on, for sure.
