He was rubbish at Arsenal but he seems to have found a home where he can play some relatively decent football.

You all remember him, even though you try not to.

He was the French international who arrived at Arsenal in 2010, stayed for three years, made 23 league appearances (40 in all competitions), scored one goal (two in all comps) and then was released when his contract expired after falling out of the team altogether.

Signing for Bastia on a Bosman, Sebastien Squillaci has managed to find some of the form that prompted Arsene Wenger to pay actual real cash money for him and has just signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club for another 12 months.

Squillaci made only one appearance for Arsenal in his final season at the club – a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Olympiacos.

He is a regular in the Bastia starting 11 and wears the number five shirt.

Good on you Seb!
