The Champions League is almost here.

With a handful of ins and outs during the January transfer window it is no surprise to see a few additions to the players eligible for Champions League duty for the games against Monaco and – hopefully – beyond.

Olivier Giroud returns to the squad after missing the last group games. He wasn’t registered for the matches against Dortmund and Galatasaray as he wasn’t expected to be back from injury so soon.

Also added to the eligible list are new signing Gabriel Paulista and Francis Coquelin after his re-emergence as a first team player at the club.

Gabriel featured in the Europa League for Villarreal but, thanks to UEFA laws, is not cup-tied for the Champions League.

Gedion Zelalem has been included in the ‘A list’ along with Abou Diaby.

The size of the ‘B list’ is unlimited, as long as players are under-21 when and “have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption.” As such Daniel Crowley isn’t yet able to be on that list, despite being on a professional contract and meeting the age requirements.

That list does include Héctor Bellerín, Serge Gnabry, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – all likely to play some part.
