That Francis Coquelin has been good is news to no-one.

But do you know how good he’s been?

Well, since 28th December last year he has been the best defensive midfielder when it comes to winning back possession for his side, ahead of Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic who is, if you read the papers with any sort of regularity, supposed to be some sort of god in that position.

Sure, it’s a small sample and it’s hard to draw definitive conclusions from such a stat in isolation, but it makes for nice reading nonetheless.

After yesterday’s humiliation at the hands of that lot, who couldn’t do with something nice?
