Serge Gnabry has finally returned to training with Arsenal.
The German midfielder has been out with a knee injury since March and while he did make a brief appearance for one game with the under-21’s earlier this season in which he got on the scoresheet he clearly suffered a setback.
Speaking to the media at Thursday’s press conference, Arsene Wenger said
Gnabry is back in full training but he needs games in the under-21s because he’s been out for a very long time. He looks quite promising again physically, and fitness-wise he is okay.
The case of Gnabry has certainly been a strange one.
Despite being out for ten months the club have been very quiet about his injury, recovery or another details as to why he has been out for so long.
If I’m correct, they have given around thee updates during the entire time he has been missing.
Of course, having been out for so long it will take him a little longer to get back up to a position where he is fit enough to take part in a competitive match but his return is certainly good news.
