Arsenal transfer rumours often start abroad. Here is a recap of what has been written in the French press over the last few days.

As usual, there is talk about Cavani leaving PSG in the summer as he does not get on with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Coming back late from his winter break, L’Equipe claim that he offered an apology to the team late and in Italian.

L’Equipe have him being exchanged for Falcao or going back to Italy.

France Football, meanwhile, mentions Arsenal as a possible suitor but their source is the Daily Express. Juventus and Roma are also mentioned.

To my knowledge, no French sources have linked Arsenal with Cavani, all the reports coming from England so it might be that Cavani’s agent is doing the rounds of English clubs.

The St-Etienne goalkeeper is mentioned in France Football as a potential signing for Arsenal.

He is the third goalkeeper in the France national team, behind Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris and Marseille’s Steve Mandanda.

FF state that “Arsenal could really use a goalkeeper with his profile for example.

The article also mentions that Spurs are interested should Lloris move to Real Madrid or any Champions League club, with Newcastle also getting a mention should Saint Etienne’s current coach, Christophe Galtier, move to the North East of England.

Estimated value €12m.

Morgan Schneiderlin

FF state that Schneiderlin has been offered an extension to his contract at Southampton which would double his wages up to €260,000 a month (about £45,000 -per-week).

They also say that he could earn a lot more at Arsenal, Tottenham or Borussia Dortmund.

He is likely to move to London and his choice might be influenced by Champions League qualification for his next potential team.

They estimate his value at €25m.

As previously reported, Arsenal, PSG and now AS Roma are chasing the Newcastle man.

Again, there is mention of playing for a Champions League team as a big incentive when he chooses his next club.

Sissoko has said in the past “I have always loved Arsenal and Patrick Viera was my idol”.

Estimated value €20m for his remaining four years of contract.

Arsenal and Manchester City have been mentioned as possible destination for the Real Madrid shotstopper.

There’s nothing new here, it’s basically the same rumour as last season.

Obviously with David De Gea linked with a move to Real Madrid and Keylor Navas already there, Casillas would be surplus to requirements.

Hummels is mentioned as priority for Manchester United for a fee between €25m and €30m but Arsenal have not been mentioned, unlike in the English papers.

The Real Madrid player is out of contract in the summer with Arsenal and Bayern Munich fighting to sign him according to French reports.

Again, there is nothing new here and the rumour rumbles on.
