Lucas Perez was set to hold a press conference today (Monday) to say goodbye to Deportivo as he gets ready for life with Arsenal but it has been postponed.

If Sunday was Mustafi day it seemed very much like Monday would be all about Perez as we got excited about his upcoming presser.

Expected to take place at around midday (and to be emotional), it was postponed almost as quickly as we learned about it.

The story of the press conference was also running in this morning’s edition of Marca.

Then…

Perez is adored at his current club and they even tried to get him to sign a seven-year deal but he opted for Arsenal where he will double his wages. It would seem very much like Arsenal have stepped in and stopped this. Total speculation on my part, but we all know how Arsenal are when it comes to announcing players.

Perez will sign a four-year deal with the Gunners and his signing, along with that of Mustafi, is expected to be announced officially tomorrow (Tuesday) unless Arsenal just give in, take a risk, and do it before they have confirmation in triplicate that their faxes have been received by the FA.

Go on, Arsenal, live dangerously!
