The date for Arsenal’s FA Cup replay against Hull City has finally been announced.

Despite drawing against the Tigers almost a week ago, no date had been set for a possible replay and fans have been left waiting to find out when the game would be played.

It was thought that the game wouldn’t be played on either the 8th or 9th of March as there are Champions League matches, and UEFA block European FAs from scheduling high profile domestic games the same time as European ties so there are no fewer viewers for the Champions League matches.

However, the game will be played on Tuesday 8th March, kicking off at 7pm. The early kick-off is no doubt so the entire game doesn’t clash with the Champions League matches that evening, which will involved Real Madrid, AS Roma, VfL Wolfsburg and Gent.

The FA have thanked UEFA for their co-operation.

I’m sure fans won’t be best pleased that it has taken until now, under two weeks until the match, for the decision to be finalised, but better late than never. Arsenal play Tottenham Hotspur three days before the game and the FA Cup quarter-final will take place the following weekend, with the winners of Arsenal and Hull facing Watford.
