We have now reached the end of season for the Arsenal Ladies Youth side and the 2014/15 season has been quite a successful one for our Development team.

The team had a transition year as many players have now moved up to the first team and a few u17 players moved up to the Development team to have enough numbers to play games.

They played an overall total of 22 games, won 15 of them, drew three and lost four, a very good season indeed.

They scored 80 and conceded 32 overall.

They finished runners-up to Chelsea Ladies in the League with 35 points trailing by just three points.

They had 11 wins, two draws and three defeats in the League and reached the FA WSL development Cup semi-finals where they lost to Sunderland away. One of the curious statistics from this season is the girls met Chelsea three times in the League and cup and beat them twice 5-0, 5-1 and drew the other 2-2 in those games.

*players who have now let the club

** youngsters promoted to first team during the winter

*** centre of excellence u17 players promoted to reserves

The big question for those who were not promoted to the first team is will they stay for another year or move on for FA WSL 2 or FA WPL side?

Some of them might as well play abroad next season at some US university. There is no doubt that the best youngsters have been promoted to the first team during the winter as Pedro Losa wants to give youth a chance.

We already know that a lot of of the u17 team will come up as they have a very successful and talented side.

Next season could see the Development team with an even stronger side and players carry on developing to be able to get close to the first team level.
