William Saliba is really considering a contract offer from Arsenal, with the Gunners optimistic he’ll extend his deal.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal have a proposal on the table for William Saliba to extend his contract, and Saliba is really considering the offer.

There are conversations ongoing and Arsenal are really optimistic, making a strong move to try and convince the player to sign a new deal in the coming weeks and months.

David Ornstein recently reported that following preliminary discussions between Arsenal and Saliba’s representatives over a new contract with the club, formal negotiations are now underway.

Again, Ornstein claims the Gunners have presented Saliba’s camp with an offer, with no agreement yet.

The Athletic journalist adds that Saliba has many admirers across Europe, and his current deal runs until 2023 with the option of a further year.

Speaking about the contract situations of Saliba, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli earlier this month, Mikel Arteta said: “Well, obviously we have to plan for the future and we are all working on it.

“Obviously Edu is on top of it and all the board. We will try to do things in the right way, being fair and trying to plan the best possible way and reward the players that, in our opinion, have a big future for the club.

“When we have something to announce, we will do that.”

Arsenal currently sit top of the league after 13 games, having won their Europa League group, with Saliba making 15 appearances across the two competitions.
