Manchester United have completed the signing of Nikita Parris from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee.

Parris, who was signed from Lyon for £80,000 in 2021 made only five league starts, with just one goal, for the club, struggling under the new manager.

Speaking to the official Manchester United site, Parris said when asked what it feels like to sign for Manchester United, a club that didn’t even have a women’s team five years ago, “It feels unbelievable, quite surreal.

”It’s been quite the summer and this now tops it off. I’m just happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started.’

”With my winning mentality in matches and in training I want to help the team move forward.

”A lot of fourth-placed finishes and just missing out on those third spots, I now want to help the team grow.

”I’m not just the only new signing this summer so it shows the intent from the club and from Marc [Skinner] in what he wants with from the squad and how we want to push forward and aim for those top spots.’

”Me personally, I would like to score goals for this club and win games,” she declared. “Ultimately that’s the aim. I want to help the team and aid the team to grow because no one one player can win a championship, it takes the whole team.

”I can’t wait to start this new chapter in my career, it’s came at a really pivotal time for me and I feel like these next few years are going to be the biggest in my career and I can’t wait to get started.”

Arsenal have still not confirmed the move at the time of writing. The deal was agreed before the Euros but the announcement was held up by the tournament.
