Real Betis and Hector Bellerin are reportedly confident that Arsenal will ‘give in’ to their demands for a lower transfer fee.

Hector Bellerin wants to stay at Real Betis.

The Spaniards, shock horror, are going through some ‘economic trouble’ and, as a result, want Arsenal to give them a little hand by lowering the fee they want for the defender.

Of course, Arsenal have form in this area so it is not surprising that Betis would ask. Arsenal did, after all, give Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang away for free and have cancelled a number of contracts in order to get rid of players.

Why shouldn’t Betis and Bellerin chance their hand?

Bellerin also reduced his salary quite significantly to sign for his father’s favourite team and it seems as if he would be willing to keep it at that level to remain with them.

Hector Bellerin discusses another move to Real Betis

Hector Bellerin says he’s already made his position clear to Arsenal and Real Betis, and he’s willing to make an effort to stay in Spain next season.

Speaking to RTV Betis this week, Arsenal loanee Hector Bellerin discussed his future and a potential permanent move to Real Betis.

Though he stopped short of explicitly stating that his decision is to return to Betis, it was certainly implied in his comments.

“At the moment, I have to go back (to Arsenal),” Bellerin said. “I have already spoken with the two clubs and I have made my position clear.

“Now we have a few months where we hope that the best will come out for the three parties.

“I made an effort to come (to Betis) and I am willing to make another effort to stay because I am happy.

“In London, I have also had great moments and it has given me a lot and I take it very much into account. They gave me the opportunity and it is also difficult to leave Arsenal, if it happens.”

Betis president Angel Haro has suggested the club want to bring the 27-year-old back, but his move to Spain was a simple loan with no option to buy.

“Hector is a fantastic player and a very good person,” Haro said. “It was a loan that we had from Arsenal, now he returns to Arsenal and from then on, we’ll see.

“It is true that he has been very caught up in everything about Betis because, in addition, his parents are Betis fans. Hopefully, we cross paths again.”

Bellerin’s loan teammates have been joking that they’ll need to open a crowdfunding page to sign the Arsenal player this summer.

The defender was a popular member of their squad, and it does seem like the only reason for the move not to go through would be the financial side of it.

Speaking to his YouTube channel, Goal’s Charles Watts recently reported that people close to Hector Bellerin have given him the impression he won’t be returning to Arsenal.

As things stand, all parties are working towards his exit.

Real Betis are Bellerin’s primary destination on a permanent deal, and they want to keep him. But Watts believes Arsenal won’t get the £15m sometimes quoted for the defender, with €5-10m a more likely fee.
