Arsenal are still waiting for a new date for the North London derby against Tottenham to be confirmed but it seems like it will be 12 May.

The game was postponed in January when Arsenal used the rules, that’s all clubs had agreed to, to have the game put back, much to the fury of Tottenham.

Tottenham, who asked to have so many games called off they earned themselves a mini Winter break, are still furious about it.

Now, it looks like the game will be played in the penultimate week of the season, in what could be a massive match for the final top four place.

The Daily Mail reported at the end of March that the Premier League informed Arsenal and Tottenham that the game is being pencilled in for the week starting 9 May.

They have now reported that the date will be Thursday, 12 May, a date SportsMail say is ‘virtually certain’.

That would mean coming after Arsenal play Leeds United (h) and before they play their final games against Newcastle United (a) and Everton (a).

For Spurs, it will mean playing Arsenal after they travel to Liverpool but before they play Burnley at home and then Norwich away to finish the season.

As a consequence of the Spurs game being on May 12, the game against Newcastle has been moved to Monday 16th and Spurs’ game at Liverpool has been moved to Saturday, May 7 with a 7.45pm kick-off.
