Returning to action after the international break, let’s take a look at our Arsenal predicted lineup to face Crystal Palace.

The tricky fixtures just keep coming for Arsenal at the moment, and a trip to Crystal Palace is arguably more difficult than it might sound.

Palace have only lost one match in the last two months, and it took an 89th-minute winner from Chelsea to inflict that sole defeat.

Other recent results include a 0-0 draw with league leaders Manchester City, a 2-0 win over European hopefuls Wolves, and most recently a 4-0 thrashing of Everton. Monday’s hosts certainly come into this match in good form.

Arsenal have had an excellent recent record as well, but Mikel Arteta won’t be underestimating the size of the task on Monday. Particularly considering his squad will be assembling late after a busy international break.

Here’s our predicted lineup to take on Crystal Palace on Monday at 20:00 BST.

Goalkeeper

We don’t yet know for sure whether or not Aaron Ramsdale will be available for this match, but the general feeling is that his oblique strain was only mild and he should be back in time.

Of course, Bernd Leno will be available to take his place if that’s not the case. But for now, we’re predicting a return for Ramsdale.

Defence

As usual, Kieran Tierney, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Ben White should all start, though all three of them have been on international duty, so we’ll see whether they return in good condition.

The same goes for Cedric Soares, who will probably keep his place over Takehiro Tomiyasu for now. Arsenal are being particularly cautious with Tomiyasu, so he’ll probably work his way back in through substitute appearances at first.

Midfield

Once again, Arsenal’s entire midfield was called up to internationals, with Granit Xhaka joining Switzerland, Thomas Partey linking up with Ghana, and Martin Odegaard playing for Norway.

So there’s always a risk one of them comes back with a problem, but if not, you’d expect them all to continue their run of starts.

Forwards

Bukayo Saka should have enough time to shake off his positive Covid-19 test before next Monday, and he has at least had a chance to rest up after pulling out of England duty.

Alexandre Lacazette wasn’t called up by France, so he’s one of a few who has been able to stick around at London Colney over the break.

Gabriel Martinelli missed Arsenal’s last squad through illness, but he went on to make his Brazil debut over the break. With Emile Smith Rowe struggling with a fitness issue this week, perhaps Martinelli is the more likely starter next Monday.
