Arsenal have reportedly contacted Sassualo in an attempt to sign centre-forward Gianluca Scamacca although it looks like the player would prefer to remain in Italy.

Although he is under contract until 2025, the rumour mill expects Gianluca Scamacca to make a move this summer and Inter Milan seems to be the likely destination with the player prefering to stay in the country.

That being said, Arsenal have made contact, according to FCInter, in a bid to try and convince the 23-year-old to snub Inter’s offer and come to London.

Scamacca has scored 13 goals, with one assist, in his 28 Serie A appearances this season, finding the net against AC Milan, Inter Milan, Napoli and Fiorentina, amongst others.

He has also picked up three full caps for Italy after scoring nine in 15 for the Italy u21s, eight in 11 for the u19s and three in four for the u18s.

He is currently valued at around £27m but a bid in excess of that is likely to be required.

A figure in the region of €40m is being talked about.

Arsenal are also reportedly considering giving Alexandre Lacazette a new one-year deal with an option for another year included.
