The transfer window has now closed so let’s take a look at who came in (lol) and who went out.

That the highlight of Arsenal’s transfer deadline day was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang just inviting himself to Barcelona before being sent home, before a deal finally being found, somehow.

It was not a good window for Arsenal in the short-term. Over a longer period, we will have to wait and see.

Sure, they cleared the decks and freed up a lot of money in wages, but they opted to spend it on no-one.

They didn’t even have to pay for the defender they signed from one of Stan Kroenke’s other teams who will remain on loan for the rest of the season. Quite why they’ve signed him now and not in July when he will actually join is a question for another day.

So, a squad that was pretty thin before the window opened is now even slimmer.

Arsenal now also have to hope that, not only do Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah stay fit and healthy, but that they can also find the back of the net.

Between them they have scored three goals in the Premier League this season.
