Daniel Taylor of The Athletic reported on Tuesday that Jordi Osei-Tutu was expected to become Nottingham Forest’s next summer arrival, with the club proposing a loan for the Arsenal youth right-back and Arsenal confirmed the deal later in the day.

Osei-Tutu has a bit of an impossible task breaking into the Arsenal first team right now. He has Calum Chambers, Hector Bellerin, and Cedric Soares ahead of him, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles still currently available as an option, as well.

A move makes sense as a result, but with money tight around the lower leagues at the moment, a loan was the most likely outcome.

The right-back captained the u23s in pre-season against Bromley and Ebbsfleet United, though he wasn’t involved in the defeat to Boreham Wood. Presumably, that’s because he was working on securing this move to Nottingham Forest.

Osei-Tutu earned positive reviews in his few appearances on loan with Cardiff City last season, but he spent the vast majority of the campaign out injured. This loan will be as much about staying fit as impressing with his performances.
