Arsenal were reportedly close to signing Kenza Dali after it was announced that the West Ham midfielder would be leaving the club this summer at the end of her contract but it seems she will now be signing for Everton.

Kenza Dali is one of eight players to leave West Ham this summer with Mana Iwabuchi who has already signed for Arsenal.

Dali, a 29-year-old attacking midfielder, finished the season with the highest number of assists for the Hammers. She played for West Ham for two seasons, arriving in 2019 from Dijon. Dali has also played for Lyon and PSG, amongst others.

She scored 10 goals in total during her time in London.

The player took to her Instagram account to say her goodbyes, posting, “After 2 years at West Ham United, I’ve decided that it is time for new challenge.

“Thank you for everything, West Ham will always be my first English family.”

West Ham, meanwhile, posted a statement that said, “West Ham United Women can confirm that Kenza Dali will leave the club at the conclusion of her contract.

“The 29-year-old will move onto pastures new after completing two seasons in Claret & Blue.

“Dali topped the Hammers assist charts this season, setting her team-mates up six times in all competitions. The midfielder also found the back of the net on four occasions this term.

“We’d like to thank Kenza for all her efforts whilst here at West Ham United, and we wish her well for the future.”

Arsenal had been said to be close to signing her but that doesn’t seem to be the case for reasons as yet unknown.

Meanwhile, the Telegraph also report that Leonie Maier is also expected to sign for Everton.

Leonie Maier’s Arsenal exit was confirmed last month. At that time, PSG were said to be one of the main contenders for her signature.

Arsenal are not expected to sign another right-back to replace her.
