Thomas Partey picked up another injury in the same place as his previous one during the North London derby on Sunday.

TheAFCBell report that Thomas Partey aggravated the same problem he had before the derby clash. He wasn’t complaining of any pain before the game, and the medical team followed protocol carefully, but he still ended up with another injury.

The player will now undergo scans to determine the severity of the problem, and we won’t know how long he’ll be out until after the results.

After Sunday’s game, Mikel Arteta confirmed that Partey felt ‘something serious’ and suggested it was another thigh issue.

Even if ends up being a short-term problem, you’d expect Arsenal to err on the side of caution now, and leave him out for a few games.

It’s obviously terrible news for the team. Even half-fit, Partey looked like one of Arsenal’s better players against Spurs. We’re going into the busy festive period now, with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea visiting the Emirates Stadium later this month.

Partey’s last injury lasted from November 8th to December 6th. Given this is a recurrence of the same problem, it would be optimistic to expect the summer signing back this year.
