Arsenal blew the chance to go third when they lost 1-0 at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon, making nobody feel confident about their chances of sealing top four given the number of away games we have left.

It was a grim afternoon so let’s not waste any more time than we have to re-living it. Here are the ratings, starting as always with the defence. Dan is on holiday, I’m not going to be as kind.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles 5

Maitland-Niles struggled, as did many of his teammates. He, at least, has the excuse of age and being moved around the pitch.

Mohamed Elneny 4

An average player that put in a below-average performance. He’s not a bad player, he’s just not good. He’ll be off in the summer.

Matteo Guendouzi 4.5

Opposition players and fans must really hate the way Guendouzi swarms around the pitch, Unfortunately, it’s not that productive at times and this was one of those games. Not a single shot, key pass, cross or other contribution going forward.

Sead Kolasinac 3.5

You think you know how bad Sead’s afternoon was until you see that he only completed 53.9% of his passes. Only Jordan Pickford, of the players who started the match, had a worse afternoon with the ball at his feet than Kolasinac, and he touched the ball more. Hooked at halftime.
