Alan Ball played for Arsenal Football Club. The former English midfielder joined Arsenal from Everton in 1971 for £220,000. Ball left Arsenal for Southampton in 1976 for £60,000. In total, he made 217 appearances for Arsenal and scored 52 goals. The World Cup Winner wore the number 8 shirt for Arsenal. After retirement, Ball went on to manage Blackpool, Portsmouth, Stoke City, Exeter City, Southampton, and Manchester City. He was born on May 12, 1945 and died on April 25, 2007 at the age of 61.
