In news that will surprise no-one, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been named as Arsenal’s Player of the Season.

The Gabon forward, who looks set to sign a two-year extension to stay at Arsenal, finished the season with 29 goals, three assists and 74% of the votes cast.

Firing a brace in the semi-final of the FA Cup against Manchester City before repeating the feat against Chelsea in the final, Auba has scored a total of 70 goals and 15 assists in just 109 appearances for Arsenal since he arrived from Borussia Dortmund.

His 22 league goals this season were not, however, enough to see him selected as one of the nominees for Premier League Player of the Season, the Premier League opting to go for a mostly English list, naming Danny Ings ahead of the Arsenal man.

Alexandre Lacazette picked up the award last season when he collected 35% of the vote but there was no close contest this year.

Bernd Leno was named runner-up.
