Stan Flaherty spent time on trial with West Ham in September after Arsenal told him he wasn’t guaranteed a professional contract when his scholarship deal expires at the end of the season.

Flaherty had a fantastic game for West Ham u18s against Norwich, scoring twice and assisting once. However, the youngster then joined Newcastle for another trial. He played 90 minutes against Liverpool u18s on October 19th.

A couple of months later, it looks like Flaherty has made his decision. The 18-year-old posted on Instagram whilst attending the Newcastle game on Saturday:

Newcastle should make the move official soon enough, assuming Flaherty really is going to join them.

Flaherty isn’t the only Arsenal youngster undergoing trials after failing to receive a professional contract offer. Malcolm Ebiowei also spent time with West Ham in the last few months. He plans to train with other Premier League clubs too.
