Tuttosport (via Milan News) report that the Serie A club are looking for a midfielder with a little more physicality. They’re targeting one of Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny and Lucas Torreira to join them in Milan.

The report suggests the Italians see Torreira as the least likely to join. He isn’t exactly on Arsenal’s transfer list and he has a long contract with the club.

Xhaka is more likely to leave after his falling out with the fans. We’ll see what incoming manager Mikel Arteta makes of him.

Then there’s Elneny. The Egyptian midfielder is on loan at Besiktas, but his agents reportedly visited Milan last October to offer him to the club. Milan didn’t close the door to that option at the time.

They could try to convince Arsenal to recall the player in January before moving him on to Italy.

For the most part, Elneny is doing well in Turkey. He picked up a red card on his debut, but he’s now a regular for Besiktas. They’re looking to sign him permanently themselves, despite reports he’s unhappy there.
