Granit Xhaka will ‘100%’ leave Arsenal in January, according to one journalist, with a number of potential buyers on the cards.

Speaking to MilanNews, Marcello Pelizzari of Corriere del Ticino claimed Xhaka is ‘100%’ likely to leave Arsenal in January.

Pelizzari says Newcastle United, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan and AC Milan are all options for the midfielder, but AC are ahead as things stand thanks to Ivan Gazidis’ influence.

Xhaka reportedly believes he would be happy in Milan, though he’s concerned about the club’s competitiveness, as they sit 14th in the league. He also wants to be playing regularly with Euro 2020 in the summer.

A report from Switzerland also suggested Xhaka is house-hunting in Milan, as he’s intent to leave despite his public declarations to the contrary.

On the other hand, Fabrizio Romano writes for Calciomercato that Xhaka isn’t in talks with Milan, and they would actually be more interested in Lucas Torreira in January. The club reportedly made more than one attempt for Torreira in the summer window, but they were unsuccessful.

Torreira has reportedly made it clear he wants Arsenal to consider transfer offers next summer, and Milan would prioritise this case over Xhaka’s.
