With esports growing at a rapid pace, many big names in football seem keen to get in as close to the ground floor as possible.

Step forward Bernd Leno who announced last month that he was launching his own esports team that aims to enter the major competitions while also focusing on nutrition and movement to ensure gamers aren’t just stuck in a chair for hours on end.

He has now announced a new partner:

Translated, it says, Welcome to the team, @elgatogamingDE 🤝 Elgato will equip our players with the necessary hardware so that nothing stands in the way of exciting streams. We look forward to a great and successful cooperation! 😎💪#LenoeSports

“Console and movement should not be mutually exclusive,” Leno said around the time of the launch.

Leno’s team is imaginatively named, “LenoeSports”.

Ozil launched his own esports team a little over a year ago while Arsenal have been hosting top tournaments. Stan Kroenke has his own side too while an Arsenal fan represented the club at the ePremier League finals.
