Arsenal are still chasing after Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic according to a report from Italy.

The 30-year-old hasn’t really been linked with Arsenal since the start of the year but in addition to looking for youthful (and cheap) reinforcements, Arsenal know that they need to replace the experience they lost in the side when Aaron Ramsey and Petr Cech left.

Arsenal reportedly tried to sign Perisic in the January window and it was claimed back then they would return for him in the summer. Spurs were also supposed to be interested but getting to the Champions League final has clearly gone to their head and they have now been replaced on the list by Wolves and Leicester.

That’s good news for Arsenal, obviously.

Perisic signed for Inter from Wolfsburg in 2015 and has 40 goals and 37 assists in 163 matches for the Italians.

Back in February, it was claimed that a bid of €30m would be enough to land him, a substantial sum for the Gunners this summer, but six months on he should be slightly cheaper, if not much.

He is currently under contract until 2022 and earning around £51kpw, a salary Arsenal could easily better without getting too concerned.

Also in February, it was claimed that Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta wouldn’t stand in his way if he asked to leave again. The winger scored nine and assisted eight in 45 games across all competitions last summer.
