Arsenal are showing the ‘most urgent’ interest in Belgian winger Yannick Carrasco, according to reports in his home country.

Earlier this week, Carrasco confirmed that he has an offer on the table and negotiations with his agent were progressing well. He admitted that his wish was to return to Europe, to be closer to his family, despite enjoying his time on the pitch in China.

Now, reports in Belgium suggest Arsenal are very interested in the former Atletico Madrid man, appearing to be the most urgent of Carrasco’s pursuers. Inter Milan, AC Milan and AS Roma are the three teams joining the Gunners in the race for his signature.

With the Chinese Super League operating on a different calendar, Carrasco is currently midway through the season with Dalian Yifang. He’s scored seven goals and assisted two in nine games for the club this campaign, despite very mixed results leaving the side in the bottom half of the table.

In his last half season in Europe, playing for Atletico, Carrasco managed four goals and seven assists in 1,459 minutes on the pitch, an average of one goal contribution every 132 minutes.

If the winger could replicate that over an entire campaign with Arsenal he’d be a very useful addition to Unai Emery’s squad.
