After signing Jill Roord and Manuela Zinsberger from Bayern Munich, Arsenal will soon add Leonie Maier, an experienced German international, to their ranks.

26-year-old Leonie Maier signed for Bayern Munich in 2013, moving from SC 07 Bad Neuenahr after a year with VfL Sndelfingen.

Capped almost 70 times for her country, the defender has also been included in their World Cup squad for the tournament in France this summer.

The announcement of her signing is expected sooner rather than later.

A Scottish defender, also set for the World Cup, could also be joining the club before the transfer window closes but, at the time of writing, that is not confirmed information.
