Earlier this week it was reported that Nketiah met with Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah back in 2018 in Iceland for talks about his international future. The forward allegedly told Appiah at that meeting that he is not interested in representing Ghana, hoping instead to receive a senior Three Lions call.

GhanaWeb then claimed that Nketiah’s family were furious at being asked for money to obtain an u17 invite three years ago and this has helped shape Nketiah’s desire to remain with the England national team set up.

The same publication now reports that Nketiah’s father ‘took to social media’ to call the reports “sheer and utter fabrication,” although they do not link to the original social media post.
