Joe Willock, Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith Rowe could all feature against Qarabag on Thursday, after they were rested by Freddie Ljungberg in the u23s’ win over Leicester City on Monday.

The trio all missed out on Arsenal’s trip to Leicester completely on Monday, remaining in London instead with the rest of the first team.

However, it’s possible Smith Rowe’s absence had something to do with a knock he picked up in his full debut match against Brentford last week. The injury forced him to miss training last Friday.

Willock and Nketiah are both fit though, so if they aren’t playing for the u23s, it looks extremely likely they’ll travel to Azerbaijan.

Both are yet to feature for the first team this season, after taking part in pre-season games with the senior side. Nketiah scored a couple of goals and assisted one in those friendly matches. Willock provided an assist too, despite his limited game time and deeper position in midfield.

Since then, they have a combined eight goals and two assists for the Arsenal academy. The duo prove every week that they’re too good for the youth teams. Hopefully, Unai Emery has taken notice of that and gives them some minutes on Thursday.
