Raul Sanllehi has told the BBC that every decision being made at Arsenal has one thing in common – it has to be for the good of the club.

Arsenal withdrew their contract offer to Aaron Ramsey and the Welshman is set to leave the club in January for a fee or the summer for nothing with Raul Sanllehi hinting the decision is “what is best for the club.”

The midfielder seemed shocked that the deal had been taken away, however, he would be well advised to look at the actions of his own agent if he wants to lay the blame anywhere.

Most reports covering the issue have been based on speculation with Unai Emery showing he is the master of saying lots without actually saying anything.

Sanllehi has now, however, spoken with the BBC and while he didn’t mention Ramsey specifically, it is clear what he is talking about.

“I am not here to talk about individual cases but to talk more of the philosophy we are bringing,” he told BBC Sport.

“Any decision that we take is thoroughly discussed, debated among several professional people sharing one common objective, which is what is best for the club?

“Any decision we take along this way, is always going to be based on whether this is good or bad for Arsenal, if it’s a responsible decision or if it can be detrimental for Arsenal, that is basically our main criteria in every step of the decision making.”

There have been reports that Emery wants to ship Ramsey out to bring in his own players but that wouldn’t explain why the Spaniard made Ramsey one of his five captains.

More likely, it is the club wanting to move on a player who is due a massive increase on an already hefty wage.
