Everton are monitoring Danny Welbeck’s situation ahead of a potential move to sign the forward, after missing out on him in the summer.

The Mirror write that Everton are ‘keeping tabs’ on the striker’s situation. According to their report, Welbeck is still ‘no nearer’ to agreeing a new Arsenal contract than before. Like Ramsey, the 27-year-old is now more likely to end up leaving in one of the next two windows.

Everton showed an interest in the summer but failed to land their target. It makes sense that they would reignite that interest now, considering Welbeck’s impressive form since the start of the season.

If Welbeck doesn’t sign a new deal, then he can also speak with any overseas club over signing a pre-contract agreement from January. If Arsenal want to hold onto the striker, they only have three months to ensure his head isn’t turned.

It’s unlikely Unai Emery will have any problems with Welbeck’s commitment this season, either way. The England man has always shown a willingness to give everything on the pitch, regardless of if he’s starting matches, coming off the bench, or whatever else is going on in the background. We’ll see what happens with his contract situation though.
