21-year-old Argentine winger Matias Vargas says he’d join Arsenal over the likes of Bayern Munich, PSG, Real Madrid and more.

Appearing on a TV show in Argentina, Vargas was asked which club he’d prefer to join: Bayern, Juventus, Real Madrid, PSG or Liverpool. The forward simply responded “The Arsenal”.

When pressed for his reasoning, Vargas explained that his father influenced him to follow the Gunners. He likes the identity Arsenal has and reportedly Manchester United goalkeeper and fellow Argentine Sergio Romero told him there’s a beautiful atmosphere at the club.

Vargas currently plays for Velez Sarsfield in Argentina. He’s making a strong impression in the league at the moment, so much so that his country gave him his international debut last month.

The player is certainly most comfortable on the left, though he sometimes plays as a left attacking midfielder rather than a winger. Either way, Arsenal could certainly use wide players at the moment.

According to WhoScored‘s statistical analysis, Vargas’ biggest strengths are through balls and dribbling, but he’s also strong at making key passes, finishing and passing in general. His link-up play is very good, and he’s a threat from indirect set-pieces.

If Unai Emery is interested, Vargas has a contract until 2020. Now is a good time to make a move.
