Alexandre Lacazette and Unai Emery have been nominated by the Premier League for September’s Player of the Month and Manager of the Month respectively.

Alexandre Lacazette had a great month with Arsenal in the league, starring in most of their four September wins. He began with an assist for Aubameyang against Cardiff, before scoring an unstoppable shot of his own to win that match.

Arguably, the striker then topped that finish with an even better one to break the deadlock against Everton. After that, he was involved in both goals against Watford, putting Craig Cathcart under so much pressure that the defender turned the ball into his own net for the first, before assisting Mesut Özil to tie the game up.

The only game where Lacazette didn’t get a goal, assist, or both, was against Newcastle. Even then, it was his shot that rebounded to Özil to score the Gunners’ second.

Unai Emery had to navigate a few potentially tricky games to guide his team to four straight wins. First, they had to get an opening away victory on the board, to silence the doubters about Arsenal’s ability on the road. Then there was the trip to St. James’ Park, where Arsenal lost last year.

Finally, the game against high-flying Watford, who were above Arsenal in the table at the start of the match. Emery often had to adapt his team mid-game to secure the results, as shown by the fact that all four fixtures were level at half-time before the team found a second-half winner on every occasion.

Let’s hope both can keep the good results coming. If you want to vote for the pair, follow the links in the below tweets:
