Aaron Ramsey is being ‘seriously monitored’ by AC Milan, according to an Italian journalist.

Pietro Balzano Prota writes that Milan are already thinking about how to strengthen their side in January, particularly in the midfield area. Ramsey is being seriously monitored, with the Italian club eager to find out if he’s really an option in the winter window.

This week, Ramsey’s agent seemingly confirmed that the player will leave the club in one of the next two windows. The agent tweeted at an Arsenal: “There is nothing we can do Charlie, the club made a decision. Life goes on. You’re right [the grass] isn’t always greener and he didn’t want to leave, but now there is no other option.”

The problem for the midfielder is that he and his agent are asking for wages that would make him one of the highest paid players at the club, but he isn’t justifying that on the pitch right now. Against Watford, Arsenal only managed to find their feet when the Welshman went off.

Ramsey’s struggling in that number 10 role he wanted so badly, and there’s no space for him further back right now, with Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka striking up a good partnership.

A move to Milan wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, as it would at least prevent the 27-year-old from directly competing with Arsenal too often. Better than letting him follow Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool. We’ll see what happens in January.
