With the FIFA 2019 WWC draw barely two months away in Paris, let’s have a look at the current state of play in the different confederations.

There will be 24 teams playing in the Women’s World Cup next year in France.

Here is the list of qualified teams and their FIFA rankings as that will decide the seeding for the draw. It is important to note that the final rankings used will be published on 7th December, a day before the draw in Paris.

1. AFC

Australia (6), Japan (7), South Korea (14), China (15), Thailand ( 28)

3. CONCACAF

3 teams, TBD

4. CONMEBOL

Brazil (8), Chile (39)

5. OFC

1 team, TBD

6. UEFA

Germany (2), England (3), Sweden (9), Spain (12), Norway (13), Italy (17),  Scotland (19), plus the UEFA play-off winners

7. Host nation

France (4)

8. Play-off CONCAF-CONMEBOL

1 team, TBD

TBD = to be decided

The World Cup will be extremely competitive as the top 10 teams could all be involved in the tournament.

USA (1) and Canada (5) are likely to qualify from the CONCACAF section, while the Netherlands (10) are competing in the UEFA play-offs alongside Denmark (16), Switzerland (18) and Belgium (23).

Therefore, the top seeds should be the FIFA-ranking top 6 – USA, Germany, England, France, Canada, and Australia

The second seeds should also be a strong group with Japan (7), Brazil (8), Sweden (9), Spain (12), Norway (13) and two other teams.

The only teams in the top 13 that could miss out are the Netherlands and Korea DPR, who are currently banned after being found guilty of multiple doping offences at a previous tournament.

The tournament will be played in June 2019 all over France and the tickets go on general sale from 19th October here.

There is currently a pre-sale phase for the football family in France i.e. those who have an FFF licence (players, staff and administration people). Only the Stadium packages will be on available during the first phase of general sale.

Single game tickets will be on sale once the draw has been made and should start in February, with a VISA pre-sale planned that will probably take place in December.
