Petr Cech has returned to training as the goalkeeper looks to reclaim his place in the Arsenal first team from Bernd Leno who has impressed since taking over.

Cech posted on Instagram that he was back in training only 10 days after picking up the hamstring injury against Watford at the end of September. He was not expected to return to training for another two weeks at least.

The way he went down left most people, myself included, fearing the worst grade hamstring tear forcing him onto the sidelines for three months, but the Arsenal medical team have worked some magic, it seems.

I know, those are words I never thought I’d utter either.

Welcome back Petr, all being well, you will get plenty of time to rest and recover on the bench as Leno has done nothing to warrant being removed from the number one spot now.

Cech was at the Legends of Football awards on Tuesday night as his former teammate, Frank Lampard, was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

In other awards, as we revealed in our exclusive on Tuesday, Arsene Wenger was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award:
