Arsene Wenger is one of the names on Bayern Munich’s shortlist of managers to replace current boss Niko Kovac, according to reports in Germany.

BILD report that Bayern have drawn up a shortlist of candidates for the manager job, including Laurent Blanc, Zinedine Zidane and Arsene Wenger.

The German club have made a really disappointing start to the season and currently sit in sixth place in the Bundesliga. After just seven games, they’re already four points off the top of the table. The recent Champions League draw with Ajax didn’t help to improve the mood either.

Bayern aren’t the only club interested in Wenger though. In just the last few days the Turkish media has reported interest from Fenerbahce, who seemingly made an offer to the 68-year-old over the summer as well.

There may be yet another job opening soon. Julen Lopetegui is currently leading Real Madrid on a run of three defeats and one draw. The latest loss to Alavés was probably the most embarrassing, but dropping all three points to CSKA Moscow in the Champions League certainly won’t go down well with fans either.

It’s very possible Wenger could have a choice between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the near future. We’ll see.
