Arsenal will wear their away strip on Sunday afternoon when they face Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Arsenal surprised most of their fans on Thursday night when they played a Europa League away game in their home shirt. Although they had to change their white shorts to red because of a clash with the Qarabag keeper’s light grey shorts, it was a lovely move away from the modern tradition of wearing an away or third kit even when there is absolutely no need.

Bernd Leno, who is expected to start in place of the injured Petr Cech, will be wearing a purply-pink strip that blends well with what the rest of the team will be wearing.

Although Arsenal have won only one of their last eight games away at the home of a London rival, they are looking for their third victory in a row at Craven Cottage.

Arsenal are also the team with the best win-rate in London derbies (51.3%) while Fulham have the worst (20.8%).

Fulham have yet to keep a cleansheet in the league and have not done so in a league derby in seven years.

In other news, Unai Emery is up for Manager of the Month for September and it’s hard to see how anyone else can win it after the Spaniard took Arsenal through the month with six wins from six games in what was his first full month in the division. You can vote for him here.
